Beer Baby

I am I be, I paint who and what I see. An abstract artist floating between the street and contemporary arts. Intrigued by colours endless form, I use spray paint to offer childlike stimulation for adult eyes. I am a platform, a performance for synthetic colours to flow through me; unforgiving in who they are and unapologetic in who they harmonise with. Vibrant and defiant, I am these colours. Birmingham, UK born, Birmingham UK, based Beer Baby says colour your walls. My paintings are created through performative movement and exist due to colour choice and chance rather than intention to create something in particular. This freedom has allowed me to have multiple possibilities in each painting; before and after creation. If I don’t feel connected to the moment, my feelings and to the colours I struggle to create. It’s this connection that fuels my process. I’m inspired by queer energy, movement of bodies and colour; but all that gets internalised before it finds the connection to my art.

When I begin painting I’m not thinking of these inspirations, I’m feeling them; they flow through me freely and as they begin to take abstract form they subtly appear in my paintings. Until I give these ideas a platform and colour to perform they remain part of my subconscious. Colour is something that inspires me, even beyond my art, so choosing combinations and giving them the space they deserve within each piece is an integral part to my practice.
