Dana Southerland

Dana makes work about identity in terms of self expression, existence within a
community, and cultivating connections. She studied photography, receiving her BFA from SCAD and her MFA from Maryland Institute College of Art.

Her creative practice values the storytelling of being a black woman in America and
how we are impacted by the spaces we immerse ourselves in. Dana creates lifestyle and fine art imagery that explores these perspectives and confronts her audience with challenging dialogues.
